Day 8 – 9 Do you know the Way to Santa Fe? Oh Wait, that was San Jose….I should have taken that left turn at Albuquerque

Day 8 had us leaving the WigWam in Holbrook and chasing a few more National Park sites

The history all over this country is amazing. We finished the day in Gallup, NM where we had dinner with Lou Diamond Philips! Ok, Ok, he was eating in the same place we were and walked past our table on his way out (the El Rancho Hotel if you’re curious). He was doing a meet and greet at a local casino. Much better than the time we were buzzed in a towncar by Mike Tyson in Krakow Poland.

Anyway, Day 9 took us to 3 more National Park sites and we ended the day in Santa Fe – yes, it is still Route 66 – the 1926-37 alignment if you must know. Fact check me, you know you want to!

Lots of driving today, not much photography. We did meet some interesting people along the way. Day 10 will take us to more National Parks and some historical places in this area.
