After Tucumacari we went to Shamrock Texas. But first a few more from Tucumacari
My specific reason was to capture the Conoco Tower lit up. I was so disappointed when we went out at sunset with no lights!! Luckily, it was lit up the next morning when we were leaving
We went from Shamrock Texas to stay at the Shamrock Court hotel in Sullivan MO. it was a LONG LONG LONG day, but we did have a good time along the way
From Sullivan MO, we started our trip home. Our first night was in Dayton Ohio. What a crazy storm we went through!! Before getting there we drove through Casey Il – the home of the largest everything
From Dayton Ohio, we went to Somerset PA (hometown area for the win). With all of these different beds and driving, my back has been killing me. I went to Walmart to see if I could find a swimsuit to sit in the hot tub that I THOUGHT the hotel had (I was wrong), but I ran into an old friend from high school! WHO KNEW
Just goes to show you never know who you’ll find where!
And so that concludes Route 66, the second time around!
