Less than a month, we’ll be on the first year of a 3 year re-do of Route 66. What is it about The Mother Road that makes it so attractive as a journey? The nostalgia of a time long gone, imagining a slower pace? If we could go back in time and really experience what it was like, would it be as attractive? So many questions…
I’m looking forward to starting in Chicago for a few reasons. The last time I wasn’t able to find the Route 66 Start sign. The trip seemed unfinished without that. I didn’t take as many pictures toward the end of the trip. By the time we hit Kansas, I was tired. Being fresh will give me a new perspective and inspiration.
I’m looking forward to the end of the journey this trip. Since we’re flying back, and I don’t want to deal with connections, we’re driving to Dallas. I’m looking forward to the sights in Dallas for a few days.
